This scrapbook brings together a fascinating insight into a group of friends/family and their holidays.
It is packed with black and white photographs and it would seem one of the party was a keen amateur photographer as they are in various sizes, sometimes duplicated.
The first page is entitled Hillside Hut, Newtown Linford (Bradgate) 1929-1939.
Over 300 wonderful photographs showing happy days spent camping around a hut. Lots of different dogs are named as well as the main campers and their visitors throughout the year.
There are some hand cut silhouettes of 4 of the party and 2 lovely pastel drawings of 2 of the women.
A small sketch map in the back showing Lenthills Farm, Bradgate Park, Orchard, Bradgate Arms, Yew Tree Farm etc gives an idea of where the hut must have been. There are other holiday photos from places such as The Broads, Northern Ireland and Barmouth too. Also included are postcards and newspaper clippings about Bradgate Park and it being saved by Charles Bennion.
A few more pages have random pictures pasted in as you would expect in a regular scrapbook of the 1950s.
These are vintage items. Please examine all photographs to see the condition and if you have any questions do get in touch.
