Literary card featuring a quotation from Jane Eyre.
"Ah, the governess!" he repeated; "deuce take me, if I had not forgotten! The governess!" and again my raiment underwent scrutiny. In two minutes he rose from the stile : his face expressed pain when he tried to move.
Jane Eyre - Charlotte Brontë
The card has been designed in collage using a vintage illustration by John H Bacon and the decorative cloth binding of William Morris His Art: Writings and Public Life by Aymer Vallance published in 1909.
The image is made using papers carefully cut from well read (often disintegrating) books and assembled by hand to create the photographed/scanned image.
The card is A6 which measures 10 cm wide by 14.8 cm tall.
It is professionally printed with a finished surface on 300 gsm card. The interior is blank for your own message and there is no finish to this so that it is easy to write on with any type of pen or pencil.
Each card comes with a brown linear textured envelope.
