Bookmark featuring Elizabeth Bennet from Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen.

The quotation on the back of the bookmark reads - It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.  However little known the feelings or views of such a man may be on his first entering a neighbourhood, this truth is so well fixed in the minds of the surrounding families, that he is considered as the rightful property of some one or other of their daughters.

Designed as a collage using original book illustrations and endpapers that are cut and assembled by hand then photographed/scanned to add the text digitally. This bookmark includes an illustration by Charles E Brock from a 1918 edition of Pride & Prejudice with a marbled endpaper from More English Fairy Taes (1895).

Measurements are 17.3cm tall by 5.5cm wide.  Professionally printed on 400gsm board with a matte laminated finish for durability.
